Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and The Dry Run Ltd (a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17292097, registered office [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS]), trading as Dry Run, when you use the Dry Run app and website. Short version: record yourself, see what to fix, own your own content, and only record other people with their permission.

1. What Dry Run is

Dry Run is an AI tool for practising presentations. You record or upload a rehearsal take; we transcribe it and use AI to produce a report with scores, observations, evidence from your own words, and practice drills. Every plan includes video review - your take is kept for 30 days so you can watch it back alongside the report, and you can delete it sooner whenever you like.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 and give accurate account details.
• You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app; this permanently removes your recordings, reports and data as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Plans and the free week

• Dry Run is sold as a subscription, monthly or yearly. There are two plans. Daily gives you a drill every day and 4 Dry Runs a month. Pro gives you a drill every day and unlimited Dry Runs. The price of each is shown before you start, and again in the email we send before you are charged.
• Your first drill is free and needs no card. So is your first Dry Run: we write the whole report, and you see its score, what worked and what to fix first. The rest of that report opens when you start a free week.
• The free week. To go further, you choose a plan and add a card to start a seven-day free week, with a drill every day and 2 Dry Runs. We email you two days before it ends. If you cancel before the seven days are up, you pay nothing. If you don't, your plan starts and your card is charged on day seven. You get one free week per person.
• Renewal. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and your card is charged each time, until you cancel. We email you two days before each monthly charge, and 30 days and again two days before a yearly renewal.
• Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in the app, under Profile, Manage your plan. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for and then stops; nothing more is charged.
• Changing plan. You can switch between Daily and Pro, or between monthly and yearly, under Manage your plan. The change and any difference in price are shown before you confirm.
• On Daily, the 4 Dry Runs are counted per month of your plan (on a yearly plan, per month from your start date). Unused Dry Runs do not carry over. Drills never count against your Dry Runs, and takes that fail to process on our side do not count either.
• Plans are personal to you and non-transferable.
• Passes bought before 4 November 2026. We no longer sell passes. A pass you already bought keeps everything it included until it expires.
• Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

4. Payments, cancellation and refunds

• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• If a payment fails, we email you and Stripe retries it over the following days. Your plan stops at the end of the period you have paid for unless the payment goes through.
• You have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of starting your plan (the free week counts towards those 14 days), and within 14 days of a yearly renewal. Because Dry Run starts straight away, when you start you agree that we can begin providing it during that time; if you cancel within the 14 days having already been charged, we refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the time you had the plan. To use this right, email hello@thedry.run.
• Outside those 14 days, cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current period.
• If something went wrong on our side (a take that failed to process, a service fault), tell us at hello@thedry.run and we will put it right or refund the affected use.
• Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

5. Acceptable use

• Record with consent. Dry Run is for recording yourself. If anyone else is captured in a recording, it is your responsibility to have their permission first.
• Do not upload content that is unlawful, or that you do not have the right to use.
• Do not attempt to probe, overload, reverse-engineer or abuse the service, or use it to build a competing dataset.

6. AI feedback, honestly framed

• Your reports and drill results are generated by AI. They are designed to be useful and grounded in your own transcript, but they can be imperfect, incomplete or occasionally wrong.
• Scores are calibrated guides, not objective measurements, and comparisons are against an anonymous pool of other rehearsals.
• Dry Run is a rehearsal tool, not professional advice. It is not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or career advice, and we do not guarantee any outcome from following its feedback.
• Where you name a public speaker you admire, the description of how they speak, the habits we suggest you borrow, and the comparisons in your reports are our own reading of that person's public talks, with links to where we found them, offered for reference only. They are about how the person speaks, never what they say or believe. The people named have no connection with Dry Run and do not endorse it.

7. Your content and our service

• You own your recordings, transcripts and the content of your reports. You can download your transcripts and retained videos from the app.
• You give us the permission we need to operate the service: storing, transcribing and analysing your takes to produce your reports and drill results, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your recordings for anything else.
• Anonymous, non-identifying statistics derived from reports feed the benchmark pool that powers comparisons.
• The Dry Run software, design and brand are ours. Your plan licenses you to use the service; it transfers no rights in the product.

8. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Dry Run available and improving, but it is provided "as is": we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may add, change or retire features; if a change materially reduces what your plan or pass includes, we will tell you first, and you can cancel and get a refund for the rest of the period you have paid for.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect losses, or for the consequences of decisions you make based on its feedback.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Dry Run and delete your account at any time; deleting your account cancels your plan straight away and nothing more is charged. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms; if we do that without cause on our side, we will refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.

11. The legal frame

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings there). If we update these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the update.
